I'll just be settling in the new house in Washington during that time, but I think I'm going to hit it anyways. It'll get me familiarized with the 'scene' up there.

You know, that is a great point. I'm planning to move to Washington after I'm out of school. Might be a good opportunity to get to know the scene over there for me as well.

Do it. We'll need some Nissan representation amongst the inevitable hordes of Jeepers and Toyota folk that will be there.

My vote is to move to Washington! Always can use more out this way! I just realized you went to a 3" lift. How does the ride feel with the OME and top plates? Ideally I'd do the OME with full leaf packs or a variation of them in the rear to start, and then down the road add a spacer plate, UCA's and Shackles to go up a little bit in height. I'm in dire need of suspension out back and am considering airbags just get my load carrying capacity back, but maybe i'll just bite the bullet and do the OME kit. Everyone seems to be liking it so far and it looks very good on your rig.

The ride with the spacers is no different than without, as there top mount and don't compress the springs at all. There would be significant CBC without the new UCAs, though. My only issue with the OME setup up front is the lack of suspension travel, but that is always going to be an issue unless you go with an extended travel strut.

Oh, as of today I am an official resident of Washington:)

Congrats! My guess is the scenery is slightly more green now than it was in AZ.

If by 'slightly', you mean 'extremely', then yes haha. I loved the scenery, terrain, and lifestyle in Southern AZ, but its definitely nice to see some green and flowing water again.

Great to hear and welcome to Washington! We will have to get a group started of EXPO members in the area for a get together at some point.

Do it! After my time here in Honduras, I will be headed to JBLM as well (my wife already lives in the area). And my next rig will definitely be a F-Alpha platform vehicle to join in the fun.

I've been here a day and a half, and I'm already disenchanted with the traffic. The desire to avoid it is having me house hunt further from post than I'd like. The area really is beautiful, though.

Thanks, and sounds like a plan! I do plan on attending the Northwest Overland event in Plain, not sure if anyone else is planning on heading out there?

So I made some not-so-sexy purchases in preparation for the Northwest Overland Rally. I finally bit the bullet and bought a CB radio, albeit a compact handheld. Went with the midland, as it consistently rates as the best available. Also got a stubby antenna to replace the OEM antenna, as I don't really use FM anyways and I'm tired of the stock antenna smacking tree branches. Also, I replaced my worn out compressor with a MV50 superflow and some Teraflex deflators, to facilitate quicker tire inflation and deflation. Looking forward to the rally!

I'm certain there will be many people. I'll be there with the wife as I'm trying to convince her that overlanding is better than car-camping. Although I don't have a 4x4 yet, I'm hanging out in the Nissan forum because they're topping my list and I'm trying to understand what people are doing with them. Loving yours, btw, and welcome to the PacNW.

Love these Xterra build threads!

1) They really start to look awesome once people put even mild mods into them.

2) This is one the best platforms out there for off-road project vics...simple, reliable, easy to modify.
