Jumping Jack hub size question

What lug spacing does the full-size welded frame Jumping Jack torsion axle use? Is it a 5x4.5"? I'm hoping it is so it would match a TJ. I am seriously considering getting one and it would be nice to be able to put an extra set of factory Jeep rims and 30x9.50 tires under it assuming I can replace the fenders with something slightly larger, I don't really want to have to lift it considering a 4-wheeler might be carried.

I can't say that I know off the top of my head exactly what hub it comes with, but it's cheap and easy to swap out the hubs. If it comes with 5x5.5" just go to Tractor Supply or the Internet and order up some 5x4.5" hubs. Don't let the lug pattern be your deciding factor on whether or not you get a trailer.

You might also consider the Lifetime Tent Trailer, which I wound up choosing over the Jumping Jack. They're both made by the same company, but the Lifetime is sort of a Jumping Jack 2.0 - it's a little smaller when in trailer mode, a little bigger when in camping mode, it's lighter, it's cheaper, and a lot easier to tow off-road especially behind smaller vehicles like your Jeep or my Suzuki. The most significant downsides are that it carries 1 ATV instead of 2, and it doesn't have as many optional factory-built accessories. But yes, it comes with a 5x4.5" lug pattern. :wings:

My 09 JK has 5 x 5 (center to center). My JJ has 5 x 5 (center to center). I have 31's on the JK and a spare on the JJ so I haven't given it much thought.

The Lifetime Tent Trailer doesn't seem near the build quality of the Jumping Jack. Considering it's double use a a utility trailer also, I would much rather be hauling with a welded frame and a 3500lb torsion sprung axle than a bolt together kit frame and leaf sprung 2000lb axle. From what I was told, Lifetime was only involved with the Jumping Jack line for about one year, what amounts to the duration of 2010 I think. My understandinn is up through 2009 Jumping Jack was all their own and US made, they were marketed by Lifetime for a period but maybe still made by the original guy, and now Jumping Jack is back on it's own and still US made. Lifetime even says the Jumping Jack website just hasn't been taken down yet but they are no longer associated with Jumping Jack trailers. They even gave me the phone number to call the guy who is back to selling the Jumping Jack. They said the seperation was so recent he still has a Lifetime Products email address. Is the Lifetime Tent Trailer made in the US or just imported palatized and shipped out? I don't know if the sales of the Lifetime Tent Trailer had anything to do wit the seperation.

No doubt the Lifetime trailer is a lighter-duty unit than the Jumping Jack; this saves 400lbs of weight that I don't need to be lugging around. The weight difference between the two means I can completely load my Lifetime trailer down with everything I could think to bring with me, and still be lighter than an empty Jumping Jack. If you're towing with a fullsize truck, 400lbs doesn't matter. But if you're towing with a vehicle that's rated for 1500lbs or 2000lbs, that's a huge difference.

If you're looking for something like the Jumping Jack but which is smaller and lighter and more affordable and has a larger living space, the Lifetime Tent Trailer fits the bill nicely. I'll never need more than its 2000lb GVWR, but if you do, the Jumping Jack will suit your needs better - as long as it's not going to be too wide and too long to fit down the trails you'd like to bring it on.

I like the fact that there are multiple options available to us on the market. Not many people know about the Lifetime trailer yet, but I'm sure as word gets around we'll see more of them out there. I really like mine.
