Sometimes I go just to behold the carnage or recon for a project but came across something special today so had to break out toolbox :snorkel:

...newly arrived 04 6.0 PSD E350 w/ Ambulance Prep package, somebody raised the roof to pull motor & tranny but left behind several goodies which I will now use to serve my nefarious purposes futuristically forthcoming :sombrero:

Score... We never see any ambulances at the wreckers here. Mind you, there are fewer wreckers very day, and most aren't interested in rarer stuff.
 
in the area where I used to live I used to go to the junkyard all the time and fine plenty of good parts for my van, but now it seems I live in a van free junk yard area and that just sucks.
Nice finds I'm jealous
 
Its got a 4.10 lsd rear end too!

lsd is determined by direction of opposite wheel spinning in same direction when spinning a wheel off the ground in neutral, correct? I should probably pull that pumpkin! :drool: My current axle is a 10.5 3:73, would 4:10 require different splined tubeshafts?

Something like that... With the trans in gear, an open diff will have the rear wheels (both off ground) turning in opposite directions. A Limited slip should not turn until the slip point is reached and then they'll turn opposite to each other.

In your example, in neutral they should both turn the same direction I suppose, but it could also be a Posi, locker, or spooled diff.
 
Speaking of battery boxes. Does anyone have a diagram for swapping my 2nd battery to the frame rail? I plan on using a factory Ford battery box. My van is a '95 e350 with 7.3 PSD. Going to move the passenger side battery to the frame to free up some space and be able to use a Group 65 as the 50 can't be had as many places.

there's a 99 ambulance turned camper with a 7.3 PSD in the pick your part in Sun Valley, CA.
Has a full float rear (no idea on ratio) SRW, most of the accessories, decent looking stock airbox was set aside in the back, good bumpers (which are likely gone by the time I'm typing this bit), and looked pretty good overall.

Injectors and turbo were already gone. I took the wheel sensors for the ABS.

Gotta move out to Utah! The yards have lots of vans. We always joke and say its the land of the BMW's and MAV's (big Mormon wagons, Mormon assault vehicles)
