What I don't get is that a stock defender will set you back roughly $35k equivalent in the UK, right?

Why would anyone pay $105k to throw on recaro seats, 18" wheels, some custom gauges and some leather? Do people across the pond not know how to use a wrench?

At least in the US if you had $70k to throw at a JK you could do a ton of cool stuff with it, and probably have enough left over to buy a Renegade to commute in.

Overfinch, along with quite a few 'other' UK customising companies thrive on the 'money no object' Chelsea tractor owner/driver.

Many of over finch are focused in the top end Range Rover's over here, although I still wouldn't bling a defender unless it was done by Land Rover special vehicles department. (Rugby World Cup & the recent 007 Bond) vehicles being the most recent, apart from of course the 2 millionth Defender which was recently auctioned off & the buyer was overseas (Far East).
