Just incredible!! Free solo on Half Dome

Astroman, Moonlight Buttress and Half Dome all without a rope........

I honestly think Astroman would have been enough for just a 'repeat' but to go 23 pitches up Half dome makes my fingertips start to prespire....(where's my chalk bag..). Good grief I hope other climbers don't take his lead on free soloing as impressive as he is.

Thanks for sharing!

To me the most impressive solo is Moonlight Buttress. Sandstone can be pretty unpredictable. All are mind blowing.

Amazing climbs for sure. But it is hard for me to applaud such blatant risk taking. As long as the guy is single, an only child, and his parents have passed on, then I suppose what the hell. Go for it dude.

Having kids has certainly made me think about what I do but I can understand someone with his skill and ability to jump on these climbs solo.
One of the Huber brothers just free soloed a 4k foot 5.13 vertical to overhanging route in the Italian Dolomites where the rock is less than solid.

I have been climbing since the late 70's and things that seemed incredible then seem like everyday occurrences today. But, and it's a big but, when it comes to free soloing it is just a matter of time before you number is drawn. It's addicting and these guys and gals want just one more or say they will stop once they do such and such a route. There are not too many old soloists.
