Just lucky I guess!!!

After getting my 88 mostly smoothed out, I have been enjoying driving around without my top on. My luckless friend's dodge cummins truck decided to simultaneously eat the lift and injection pump. To the tune of $2400, ouch."I'll take you home. Just gas up the rover."
His luck extended to me. A tooth broke off the starter ring gear. $10.00 part but hours to replace.

Really my fault for not checking the engagement.

Checked engagement, like I should have in the first place.

Used a jump start box to turn the motor on the ground to check the pattern.

Meh. All last year I wrestled with my transmission all last year. Finally got that sorted out just in time for all of my valves in my cylinder head to die.

On the flipside I did drive that truck a lot last year on trips. Hardly ever to work but a few Sunday hit-the-roads. Your time will come!

Matt I remember reading in a different thread about your suspension setup on the 88 but I dont remember the details and can't find the thread. Could you quickly explain what you've done for springs/shocks and how you've mounted them? From the photos I saw it has some very good travel.

The front has stock rover front springs with military shackles. I have castor correcting shims. I used longer shocks and relocated the upper mount with Ford truck brackets. The rear is stock Santana parabolics with longer shocks and military shackles. I plan on longer springs for the front. But it can wait. I just want to put some miles on it.

17mpg on the freeway and 13ish around town. I have 19 gallon fuel tank. About 290-300 bhp and 350 ft lbs of torque. Well worth the fuel economy penalty.

Penalty? Thats about the same mileage as the stock 2-1/4 but with much more power.

Briggs beat me to it. I've never been above 14 city or highway with a 2.25. Last year I was at ~12 or so. With new tires and a tune up I'm hoping for 14 again.

I did pick up a 465 for your adapter. Maybe I should finish it... One of 100 unfinished auto projects.
