I just bought my Mr. Heater for my Skamper. after trying in vain to find a suitable furnace unit for a reasonable price I settled on the MR. Heater. Should work nicely on my winter hunting trips.

Love my Mr heaters, own 3 buddy's and 2 big buddy's. Makes cold camping in the truck/tent really nice as well as the big buddy's heat my huge ice hut perfectly

I use my Buddy heater every day in the winter. I've been very happy with mine. I refill the 1lb bottles about 6-9 times each season before throwing them away. When we camp we hook the heater up to a 11 or 20 pound tank with the Mr. Heater "Green" hose which is free of plasticizers. Works great!

I am trying to get the heater working in my TC and if it is going to be a mess I am going that route as well.

I have Chevy Astro would I be able to use it inside of it?

I am afraid that it might be dangerous, as I have never used it...

Mr. Heater also makes a filter that you are supposed to use if you run a regular hose from a large tank. That's what we use. Our first night in Big Bend a few years ago was our first test run on the Heater Buddy. It worked like a charm except that on high, it will run through a small bottle in about 2.5 hours. It was 18 degrees out, and we were nice and cozy.

What were you camping in? Were you using the Mr. Buddy or the Big Buddy?

Thanks.

Are any of you using a separate portable CO2 monitor? If so, which one do you recommend? I'm planning a trip into the mountains in January and can get into the 20s. I'll have two small children with me and don't want to take any chances.

I was using a CO2 monitor I found on scamazon for about $20. Kiddie or something another brand. Has a nice digital read out. As with so many other folks experience, it never registered anything other than "0" emissions. The Mr. Heater owners instructions say that if you run it inside (house, tent, whatever) you're supposed to allow for 9 sq. inches of ventilation (3"x3") opening. We've done that every time and have never had a problem.

We're talking about fire, a controlled fire. As such, all propane heaters are catalytic in nature. Yes they all require some maintenance and inspection to function correctly. All of which is clearly outlined in the owners manual. Good information is your friend. :D

Any technical questions? Have at it, here is the manual. http://www.mrheater.com/upload/newsletter/MH9BX_2009_US.pdf
