The BHAF part numbers (for the filters typically used on a 1st Gen Dodge) are listed in this thread: http://www.1stgen.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1614. Other info on the BHAF setup for 1st Gen's:

http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/dev/basic-turbo-intake-tube-upgrade-guide-t115802.html?t=115802 - BHAF intake tube. Note that on mine, I used two 4" rubber elbows, and about 16"-17" of leftover 4" exhaust pipe. The setup is the same as the first one in the thread, but the filter I bought had a 4" outlet, instead of the 3.25" shown.

Thanks for all the info again guys. This is one of the reasons I like this forum, most people just want to help.

I have come to the conclusion the K&N is coming out. I've read enough, too many people not liking and having problems. I had never considered the driving conditions and that oil analysis. This truck has been on highway and paved streets since the install, so I feel "comfortable" with it in there right now. I don't want to experiment and take it on the dirt road trips I plan on doing. .... So it's coming out.

Checked the links and those are some real clean installs for the BHAF, we're talking beautiful.

Would like to use the BHAF with the outer wear as suggested, and use the stock rubber intake tube from the fresh air box to the turbo if possible. It's looking like the fresh air box will have to go, but would like to keep it as well. I saw one picture of an install that retained the box. Going to figure out the simplest way to get this done.

If I can't get to it shortly I'll replace the K&N with a high performing stock replacement till the BHAF goes in.

One thing I have noticed is higher engine temps with the K&N. Might just be a coincidence as summer kicked in with much warmer weather at the same time, but the engine temps are higher than I would have thought. We'll see what happens when it gets replaced. Don't know if lack of intake flow, more drag from the K&N would cause this.

Thanks again for the links, part numbers, and input. It has been a super big help. I'll post up some picks of the install here.
