300k is a lot, but like was said before; if you're going to have something with higher milage you'll have to work in, these things are great. Really easy to work on and parts are cheap and easy to get. All issues are well known and documented online.
Mine has 200k which is obviously a lit less than 300k, but I chose the rig I had and knew to drive to Argentina over one that would be a stranger to me.
This. ^ ^. I have always thought it best to find a vehicle that suits your needs then make it yours.. it's way cheaper in the long run.The only new truck I bought, babied it barely took it off road, after it got totaled I bought what I really needed and fits my lifestyle.
Not too worried about the paint either.
I've seen rigs with 300k be more reliable and better running then rigs with 100k , it all comes down to maintenance and abuse. Lower miles doesn't always mean more reliable
