This is Keith, our 94' fzj80 Land Cruiser :safari-rig:. My wife, dog, and I are planning a 3 month trip up to Alaska this Summer and decided to do a build thread of our rig as we prepare for the journey. We plan on leaving in about 5 months, so lets see how much I can get done on Keith.

This is the first day I drove it home.
Bone Stock 225K miles, Runs great, Rust free, No lockers :(
The first order of business was to take off the factory running boards.

This is Shawn, our 5 month old Old English Sheepdog feeling good about the new rig. He loves the back sliding windows the most.

I saw something I really liked over on the ih8mud forum and decided to make one myself.
Its a simple attic to give some more storage space for gear. It holds my sleeping bag, pillow, extra blankets, towels, and tarp.

Replaced the old saggy rear hatch struts with some new ones. Nice to not have it fall on your head when loading gear :)

Next up was a big one, deciding on tires. I read everything I could about which tires would be best for my trip and ultimately came down to Goodyear Duratracs. I went with 285/75/r16 roughly a 33" tire. I bought 4, and will get another for the spare right before the trip..... which hopefully will be mounted to a rear bumper tire swing out :)
I'm really happy with the look and feel of these tires so far. I took a quick overnight trip in the snow with them just last week, and they did amazing! Didn't get stuck once, and helped pull out a few of my buddies. Stoked on these tires.

LED dome lights

Another quick and easy mod that I'm really happy with is swapping the dome lights out with LED's. I bought the kit from pfranleds and they are amazingly bright! They also draw less from the battery if you leave a door open, or want some light while camping.

So much brighter. Photos don't do it justice. :Wow1:

congrats! your rigs is looking better and better. If you are doing OME lift. go with Heavy springs. with rear bumper and ARB front bumper, its the right way to go.
Can you please post a close up pic of you tires, I really like them, I am on the market for a set of tires.
