Quick hike yesterday morning (if you consider s 2.5 hr drive one way quick :ROFLMAO: ) to Kendrick Peak Lookout just west of Flagstaff Arizona - RT is around 9 miles and an elevation of 10.4k.

Mt Humphreys in the background, highest point in Arizona at 12,633 '.

Kendrick Peak Lookout is on the summit in the middle of the photo.

Kendrick Mountain Cabin

The lookout

According to temperature reading I was getting off my phone (not the most accurate) it was 33*F at the summit with a feel like of 15*F with the wind factor in and I'll tell you what, it felt like it. Despite the wind and the cold it was a great hike and I'd do it again.

I was the only one on the trail and came across about 10 people coming up the trail at various points. Great day for a hike.

Used to love doing that trail. The trees sure have taken a beating since my last hike which was well over 10 years ago. Is the tower still manned? We were able to go up an visit with the watcher and see the inside of the tower at one point. Great pictures — thanks for the walk down memory lane!

I think its still manned, though I didn't see anyone up there.

Agree on the comment about the changes in the trees. The last time I was there (prob 9-10 years ago), there were trees surrounding the lookout and the cabin was "in the trees". I had heard the cabin was now locked and it appears to be the case in your photos.

Thanks for sharing!
