I think the Karavan that Brad just had imported to the US is the first and only one in the states, but he will probably speak up here.

You know, gentlemen, Brad did such a fine job of getting the Kimberly Karavan and testing it out for us, it might be shrewd of us to talk him into selling it to Felipe to help fund the purchase of a Kimberley Kruiser, thus upping the ante on our vicarious Aussie-based travel. ;)

Yes, indeed. If Brad thinks the Kruiser is a bit much for his 4Runner, I volunteer to pull it for him with one of my larger trucks. I will also store it inside for him.

I think I need a few more years with the Karavan before I can justify the Black Caviar Kruiser. :shakin:

Felipe, They are correct. currently mine is the only one in the US or Canada. Sorry but I'm not selling mine. Have you talked with Bruce Loxton at Kimberley about importing a new one to Mexico?

Hello Brad,
Thanks for your reply. Actually I contacted you last year october asking if there was a dealer in de USA for Kimberley. You told me that yours was imported directly. At that time my plan was to attach a KK on top of my U100L. Right now my U100L is for sale http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/82237-UNIMOG-U100L-in-Mexico because a new toy arrived. My plan is more or less the same but only with different wheels.

Im also looking into a HiLo camper, but Im not convinced. Custom building is an other option.
Thanks again,
Regards
Felipe

Bruce talked to a few couples at Overland EXPO 2012 that were interested in mounting the Karavan body on a flatbed. Kimberley is willing to sell just the upper body with no lower suspension that can bolt onto a flat bed. You would only need to relocate the water tanks. I'm not sure what the price difference would be but obviously the price would be a bit cheaper without the lower frame/suspension.

Something to consider. :coffee:
