Kitchen box idea

I am working on making one of my Alum boxes my kitchen box. In looking for how to keep things organized I found these china packing kits. The padded cases will keep things from rattling. Next up is making dividers in the box.

Looks like you're off to a good start.

For space-saving, maybe dividers could be multi-purpose... like cutting board material or a strainer, etc.

I was thinking cutting board but I'll have to secure the divider to the box. I am think plywood screwed to the box and sealed with silicon.

Plywood is likely overkill, unless you have very heavy items in your box. I'm using tempered hard-board (Masonite) riveted to some thin aluminum angle stock in my box. I used backing washers on the rivets that touch wood, and it's working great. Stong, light, and durable, and just a little bit flexible if I need to "stuff" something into one of the shelves. (Like putting in the white mini-drawers on the right, they fit, but to get them in under the lip of the box requires the shelf to flex just a bit until you clear the edge...

I was thinking of using 1\4 plywood but will look at Masonite.

Still working on the concept. I'll attache the paper towel roll with Velcro.

Even better than regular velcro, use 3m Dual Lock

Thanks I have that and it is normally used in an permanent installation situation.
