Kitted out 2014-2016 LR4 and Towing

Are any of you running a fully kitted LR4 and towing? I wonder what will happen to my towing ability if I put on front (with winch) and rear bumpers, sliders and all underbody protection.

Usually, when I am out, I have a fridge in the rear, miscellaneous gear used for survival, and at least overnight capability. Probable 250lbs ish. I generally travel solo.

I can still tow a 5500 lb trailer pretty darned well. I am wondering how all this junk would jack my towing. I don't really want to shuffle stuff from trailer to LR4. What is in the LR4 needs to stay there.

Would probably end up with 265/65R18 tires as well.

Any practical experience?

You, everything you've added to the LR, your cargo and the tongue weight of the trailer need to weigh no more than the payload shown on your door sticker. You probably know this but the payload will bite you before the weight of the trailer. You are likely to need a WDH with a 5000# trailer.

Just drive appropriate to the conditions and it should be fine. I have towed a max weighted tandem 7x12 ft 3500 miles with no issue whatsoever using my lesser capable lr3 and it weighs about 8000 lbs.

Payload is 1490 lbs before driver. The tongue weight stamped on my hitch (2015 SCV6) is 770 lbs. But figure out the weight of all the stuff ahead of time, there are a lot of overloaded trucks out there.

Winch runs about 80 lbs
Front bumpers 115 to 150
Rear bumpers 100 to 130
Sliders around 85
Under armor about 40 lbs a piece so cal lit 120

So if you go nuts call it 530 to 600 Lbs that still leaves 890 for you and all your kit.

I would think not alot of impact on your towing. That is pretty much the same as 4 additional adults in the seats

My sliders are 100 lbs...each. ;-). My rear diff guard is probably 40 lbs alone being steel. My 2nd/ house 2150 battery is like 75 lbs LOL

It does great in snow though with narrow tires !
