Kiwis on the east side of the Pacific

Though I would make a bit of a post about this trip
While I have posted on here in the past a lot of things have changed in the last few years.
So ill take this time to introduce myself and my partner afresh.

So hi there, Jackson and Brooke here we are two New Zealanders in our early 20s currently based in BC Canada, working odd jobs to fund our adventures around North America.
Having both finished up environmental uni programs in New Zealand last year, we decided it was time to get out there and see this world with our own eyes before to much more changes.

This thread is not about a fully kitted overland rig or high budget adventures.
More about a couple of dirtbags exploring the world in our flash for us 2008 Xterra (by far the newest car we have ever had).
It's a simple setup but it works and will evolve as we need it to, currently its just a platform and storage we built the day before we left on this trip.

So far we have driven 1923Km since we left Rossland BC at the start of August.

Crossing Washington along Highway 2 and 97 with a brief stop off and a laugh at the craziness that is the bavarian town of Leavenworth. This brought us to Seattle where the last few things we needed such as new brake pads for terry (our nickname for the Xterra) were purchased and crammed in.
Still have yet to take the time to put them on and am thinking new rotors are really needed now too so that is getting higher on the priority list daily.
The rattling old terry has is getting a little louder too so there are plenty of mechanical foibles I need to explore (hoping not to have to do timing chain guides in a carpark).
Its to be expected in any shakedown of a newly purchased second-hand car just our shakedown is a bit longer than normal.

The road has taken us from Olympic National Park, down the 101 through Washington. Now we are currently hanging out in Oregon, having grown up on the other side of the Pacific we have been enjoying the similarities and differences we have been seeing along the coastline.
