Okay for some reason it's not allowing me to attach photos can you only upload so many or is there another method I should be using ? I know you can't use Photobucket anymore

Congrats on the purchase. I am very happy with my 97. So far just maintenance stuff after each trip. I'm at 190k and my Sub pulls very strong, runs great, shifts great and the 4x4 works very well. I did have the same issue with the electronic 4x4 switch. Unfortunately my 4x4 light is out so I did about 50 miles of pavement in 4x4 at freeway speed before I noticed. I think my mileage was around 8 on that trip. After reading the manual I noted that I had to be moving slowly to make the change and when I do so it works just fine. I have a small build thread going but nothing original, stole it all from this group of weekend warriors. Lots of good ideas on this forum.

I had am 98 suburban with the big block , loved that thing . Biggest and best improvement I ever did to it was swapping to the 4 pot yellow bosch injectors, so much smoother starting and driving plus I picked up 2 mpg .

Thanks for the tip on Meguiar's Ultimate, been using it to lift a bunch of microfine yellow overspray off my black hood. It's working really well with a 10" random buffer and some care.

Ok good I can upload pics now .
So I had a busy holiday we ended up being kidless for the weekend and took the Tahoe for a good drive , went snowshoeing, got engaged stayed at a awesome cabin on the Mckenzie river and got some good R&R in .

Tahoe did great even with a check engine light that popped on right after we left still managed 13 mpg for the trip . I still have some maintenance items to take care of ( ball joints , u joint , change fluids ) but so far I'm super happy with it .

It was such a beautiful day Sunday we decided to take advantage of it and go snowshoe up to a viewpoint on the back side of Mount hood but somehow missed the turnoff for the viewpoint but still had a great time and ended up getting another 3 miles in .

So this has nothing to do with the Tahoe but over the holidays I managed to get the bed for my jeep project framed out and mostly skinned . Next is making the lids and tailgate , munchkin was on hand to take care of the measuring and planning for that part of the build.

Hey no problem, glad I could help . When you get around to waxing it use this stuff does a fantastic job of hiding small imperfections .

Yes, I discovered the black wax a couple months ago, I think it was here. It helps a little on some paint / buffer damage I had on the top edges of the passenger doors and A-pillar, when I bought my '02 about 3yrs ago.

Here's the 'mirror like shine' after using that ultimate compound and some regular Meguiars carnuba. I need to have some door ding removal and some professional detailer work done on some sagebrush and vandalism scratches, before I bother using the compound on the rest. Or maybe not, maybe I'll go for it when I don't have available cash for other projects.

/still regretting I bought a black vehicle for offroad travel. I learned that lesson more than 30yrs ago. Or thought I had. By the time I finally found a used Sub that met my mechanical and general condition criteria I didn't care what color it was.

That's actually the reason I got rid of my 98 suburban many years ago I was always afraid of messing up the perfect black paint . Thankfully the Tahoe has enough imperfections I don't care about giving it some oregon pinstriping

Nice Rig! I love my 2-door! But I wish it was 4-door at times so that the kids could get in and out easier.
