lack of M416's...

Since M416's aren't falling out of the sky and the price is right (freedom is good) I am giving some thought to adopting these two for a bash-up trailer effort. The red (ish) one is angle iron with a steel mesh floor. I have a need for the mesh for another project and pretty much am looking toward the red one for the axle only. The black one is tube steel and has what can best be described as a pair of large casters on bottom. Its contribution towards the effort will be the frame.

The result will probably be somewhere in the neighborhood of an M413 (also my birthday) and will stagger along slowly, as most of my projects do. I am open to suggestions, contributions and input.

I like the tube frame. I wish I'd built mine entirely from scratch. I ended up making a frame and using a CDN101 tub on it.

Is your axle a workable width?

Good luck.

Not sure if it is workable or not. I am new to the trailer stuff, I am not sure what can be done with axles. Can they be chopped shorter? If not, I may have to chase down another one. I really hope the cut and paste button will work on this part of the project. Part of the free deal is that both dissapear from my buddy's barn.
