The Awning will stay out, it has nice rigid arms to lock in place, but if windy, i would use guy tye to secure it.

Here is the pic that I scanned from a Surfers Journal of the Hurricane Hunter.
I really like the "feet" of the rack, how the are wrapped over the bed rail. Nice low profile and the step is perfect. I think I read somewhere else that it was made by Safari Gard

My frame in made from 1 1/4 steel with a 0.60 wall, pretty thin, but it does it's duty. Going to have it powder coated this coming week and I'll get some pics up. The tubing was bent by a race performance shop with a nice pneumatic bender. The whole frame is actually lightweight and easy to pick up by myself.

Here are a couple pics of my home-brew rack. I originally built it as a ladder/lumber rack, but later added the high-lift and shovel/axe brackets which are removable.

why do you need 4 coolers!? Wouldn't it be a lot easier to just install a fridge?


I like the over the capper rack ideas. It gives you a lot more options and being able to have a tent mounted up there is sweet. You could carry kayaks or surfboards on the side of the overhead rack....if you used the top of the rack for something else.
