Land Cruiser 76 Specs

Hi,
I'm looking around for a few specs on the Australian spec Landcruiser 76 GXL wagon. I've been putting together a spread sheet comparing it with the Jeep JKUR and the LR Defender 110. These are three very comparable expedition vehicles and I want to see how the numbers stack up. It's all just to satisfy my OCD, because neither the Defender or Series 70 LC are available here in the US :(. I know in my mind that comparing them on paper is not really the best way, but I can't drive two of the three, so what the hey! Anyway, if any of you Toyota followers would know a few specs, I'd appreciate hearing from you. Also, a link to where they were found would be great, since I'd like to be as accurate as possible. I'm looking for the underbody clearance with stock 265/70r16 tires, the minimum turning radius, the break over angle, the axle track width, the transfer case ratios as well as available axle ratios for the V8 diesel. Cargo capacity behind the rear seat would be a plus too! I've found everything else on Toyota Australia, but these figures that are left elude me. As soon as the spread sheet is finished I will find a way and post it on the forum for other number crunchers like me who need to be satisfied with the vehicle they bought.

Try the website www.redbook.com.au

Its an Australian site all the dealers over here use as a reference when trading used cards. It shows all the specs, standard equipment & options for every Australian sold car. Handy tool if your seeking Australian specs.

Cheers.

This site had the most info so far. The only big things I'm missing now are break over angle and transfer case ratios. I'm almost done!

Okay,
So as promised, I have the spread sheet finished (mostly). I would like to apologize up front to anyone that uses the metric system. I'm a native Oregonian and had to make the numbers mesh inside my head, so I converted all of them to US spec. I had to teach myself to use excel along the way. Considering I'd never used it before I think it turned out quite nice. Since this is an unbiased numbers only comparison I strove to get the most accurate numbers for the spreadsheet. Most specs came from the manufacturers website, but there were a few that I sourced from third parties. Thank you all for your help with this. If you see any that are wrong please PM me and I will correct and update the chart. In closing some may ask why I did this. In short, I can't explain exactly. It seemed like the thing to do considering I'm not able to drive two out of the three cars. If you are like me you may understand exactly why I did it and you may find some use for it. As for the spreadsheet, feel free to copy it and share it wherever you'd like. This may be the only thing I ever manage to achieve for humanity. FWIW, enjoy!

Hi all,I apologize for my englisch in advance.
A few things from real life with HZJ76 with 4.2 diesel engine. The optimal and comfty move speed for highway is 110 km per hour. 120-130 km per hour is not problem, but fuel consumption is about aprox 2liters / 100km higher. Normal fuel consumption in road mode with soft off roads is 11-12,5l/100km. Off road aprox 15l/100km,depending on the difficulty. On mud and hard terrain from 15 to.... :)) liters.
This rig is absolutelly perfect for me. Much better than my prev hzj 78, bcs we have a two little boy and i love for the next two doors. Is great for manipulations with child car seats.
if you have some questions about hzj 76 i will try reply you.

interesting payload rating on the 110. it seems a tad optimistic. im not sure id cruise around in one with 2400 pounds on board.

That wasn't the only surprising figure for me. The towing capacity on the Rover and Land Cruiser were quite high as well. It's hard to imagine a mid size suv handling that much weight.

I updated my last post with a new improved chart. It now has the price spread of the three models. Marshal asked for a diesel comparison as well, so I went ahead and spec'ed that out as well. I used a Sport model JKU in the diesel chart because Rubicons are not available in that configuration.
