While I do not subscribe to this philosophy, there are some strong and weak points to LR ownership, and picking the right model is paramount.
A well maintained diesel Defender- world famous, positively. A petrol '96 Range Rover P38- notorious for it's inability to reach 100k miles!
Then within the specific model, find the 'right' truck- no rust, well maintained, etc. As stated above, there is a reason the Landy is world famous for adventure, agriculture, and military.
But, buy according to the intended use- don't expect a Defender to be a Range Rover- they have different models for reasons!!
