Laptop Mount in XJ?

I tried googling and really didn't come up with any information.. I'm trying to get some info on how to build a laptop mount for in my XJ.. I was thinking about mounting the base stand to the floor or some short of support beam on the floor... Anyone have any specs/links that you would like to share on this idea, I'd appreciate it!

RAM makes one specifically for the XJ. It mounts by sandwiching between the seat and the floor

try looking at jotto desk. i origionally bought it when i had my xj since then it has been in my dodge ram and going to be getting installed into my jk very soon. i thought about making my own but for the price i got the jotto desk for it just wouldnt have been worth it.

Jotto Desk Laptop Mount

Craigslist was the source of the laptop mount for my Cherokee XJ. I found one for a Ford Expedition, including the optional articulating notepad surface, for $50. I discarded the Expedition floor bracket and went to a local shop that modifies emergency vehicles to purchase the jottodesk swiveling universal floor mount which I then mounted to the sheetmetal of the passenger side of the transmission tunnel. Total cost was less than $90.

Ebay is another source for used Jottodesk units.

Stumps set up is slick! I need to fab something up, before my next trip.

Sure would have nice to have the laptop along, for both capturing the GPS routes, and for the pics/video clips.:coffeedrink:
