Does anyone have a larger than stock gas tank? I am thinking about building an secondary tank between the frame the rear fender. I think I can get 4 gallons in this spot.

The stock 24 gallons is big, but for highway trips and real backwoods travel have more range is good. I currently have a 5 gal on the rear bumper.

I wouldn't recommend that location. The rear wing is thin aluminum and will not protect a gas tank.

For simplicity and safety I'd suggest just sticking with jerry cans.

I have a Heavy-duty rear bumper with rap-around protection. 1.5"x3" tube with 3/16" wall.

The tank would follow the contour of the the side peice(3/16 thick also).

If it's tucked really well it should be o.k.; I'm just a sissy when it comes to fuel :sombrero:
