FWIW:

I am running the Big-O AT in that size. I really like the tread style, open enough for Utah's mud, and a 50k warranty. I have had a set of the XT's that were fantastic also. Super quiet on the road...

On the Big O site, the 285/75/16 BigO XT and BFG KO (D load range) were both at $206 (BFG has a $60 mail in rebate right now, which I'm sure BigO will match). Any advantages XT has over the KO's?

I'm sure the BigO is a perfectly decent tire, but for the same price? Definitely the BFG AT KO.

I personally think tires are overrated. I have run a variety of tires in and around Utah from slickrock to talus, and I think they are all the same for the most part...(just my opinion)
Other than that, I like the tread pattern better on the Big O, and some friends of my parents own a Big-O so they give us a bit of a discount. As I recall I was 806 mounted/balanced/etc.

Oh, I love the looks of the DC FC II tire...I actually considered those.

I have not been as happy with the 2nd-gen XTs that I have on now as the 1st-gen XTs I used to have. The 1st-gen's were worth 200% the price I paid, the 2nd-gen worth 50% of what I paid.
