blur,

If you weren't running the Can Back and some of the extra weight would you still go with the 9 leafs ir would you be doing an 8? I have a tonno cover that I am happy with for the most part and I don't really put a whole heck of a lot back there but I am trying to decive to go with the 8's for comfort and flex or the 9's for more flexibility with weight and options down the road like a Can Back. Suggestions?

So, I finally got off my lazy butt and did something about my sagging springs. I decided to take my springs directly to deaver and have them add a couple leaves.

I went from a 7-leaf to a 9-leaf setup and so far so good... The extra leaves had a minimal impact on ride quality, but I gained a lot more load capacity. The guys at deaver did an excellent job too. I brought my springs to them (off the truck) and they had them back to me in about 2.5 hours all freshly painted and ready to go!

Here are a few pics of how its riding now, with a bit of weight (Can-Back, bike racks/basket, sleeping platform, Hi-Lift and some random tools...). I forgot to take a before pic, but it measured 1.5" lower in the back than in the front. Now I'm at 1.5" higher.

Anyway, thanks everyone for the advice,

Jake

Jake,

Looks awesome:26_7_2: I'm thinking about sending my my back to get an extra couple leafs added. How much weight would you say you have back there?

On any given day, with the items mentioned above I carry roughly 250lbs. I'm actually on a 2-week trip right now sitting at a hotspot outside of Mt. Shasta, CA and I'd estimate I'm carrying about 450lbs+ with all my toys, water, fuel, etc... The truck is still about 1/2" higher in back, which is what I was hoping for.

nice looking rig...can't remember if i responded to this earlier but good call on the deavers, everyone seems to really like those springs...wonder how they will hold up over time when coupled with the stock toyota springs. my 02' toyota springs went to %&$@ fast with any significant load...switched to 7 leaf OME and ride rite air bags and now i can't even tell i have a camper on the back. nice work, looks sweet!
