Leatherman Tread - experiences with the tool?

^ He is talking specifally about the Tread. It's a wrist/bracelet based "multi-tool". I think everyone on here understands how good the folding mult-tools are. I've seen a lot of responses on here about them, and no one seems to be paying attention to the original post.

Ahhh! I checked it out (tip: post a picture of it) I really like the look of it and some functions, would even buy looks cool. but i don't think i would make the same statement as with the multi tool. also since i weld and torch stuff, i could not use it at work absorbs to much heat. biking or running would probably annoy the wrist.

and yeah i misread "tread" my brain thought thread.

On a camp out a couple of years age a friend and I taught a couple of Leatherman engineers how to make fire by rubbing sticks together. They said the would send us some protypes for evaluation since we do search and rescue and would have good useful experiences with the new tools. Never heard a word from them since :campfire:

I keep seeing these leathermans. Always debate on getting them since I Dont know if it would come handy...They do look nice and seem to be quality products

I picked up the Tread last December. First off, it is made of stainless steel so it is softer than the Wave which I usually carry. I consider it a back up tool. That being said, I like it a lot because of the convenience of always having a tool with me. I've used it to tighten screws on tables and chairs, attach license plates, assemble small furniture, etc. on the fly when I'm in a hurry and I don't want to break out my tool set. It's also TSA compliant, so I like the idea of having a multi-tool on me at all times while my Wave is in my checked luggage. It is pricey, but I'm sort of a gadget head and found that the best tool is the one you have on hand when you need it.
