for that price i think i would go with a trusted name like vision-x or rigid, i know there are some vendors on pirate that have a lot of good info on led's. it seems like the light output ratings vary alot and its hard to know what your gonna get unless someone else has first hand experience and can recommend them to you. just my 2cents

Most definitely. Educate yourself on the lumens your current fogs create and what you want to create. I believe Sylvannia lists all OE brightness for all vehicles. Then once you are comfortable with that, know that beam pattern comes into play also. What you had/what your getting. Is it focused. Is it reflective. This is something I'd dip a financial toe in the water first.

Don't get all caught up in the advertised lumens. Only tells you the potential output. Massive lumen numbers are useless if the light isn't going where you need it and is often detrimental if its creating hot spots (all the lights focused in one area in front of you and often reflecting back at you). Definitely not something you'd want in a fog light...want to ensure the proper beam pattern/reflector is selected.

Recommend once you know what you currently have to follow up with rigid, visionx, or baja designs on what would be the most suitable solution to emulate your fogs. There is a quality difference between the knock off lights and the visionx/rigid products (I've got one of each and have compared them).

I think dyogim purchased some fog or driving lights from DDM Tuning, you might want to check his thread.

Also, those aren't fog/driving lights, those are just work lights. Not going to give you the results you desire.

My issue with LED lighting is that some brands are 'cool white' or whatever, and they end up being kind of blue. Their kelvin rating is 5000k, you want 4000k or so to keep it a 'warm white'.

I think he purchased them from here :

I have a 20" Rigid LED bar, and while the build quality is excellent, the "throw" isn't as good as it would be with an incandescent or HID equivalent. It throws a wall of light, but only to about 75-100 yards.

For fog lights, I think LEDs would be an excellent choice, but if you don't plan on using them a lot you might just want to stick with something less expensive.

I tried VisionX's supposed LED "fog lights" (3w x 5 units, amber) based upon the recommendation of a VisionX employee. Near worthless for fog (ditto for dust). All the current crop of LEDs I am familiar with have too much vertical wash to be of real value in fog or heavy dust.

A lot of snake oil marketing in LED products right now...buyer beware.

I've got some experience with some of these products. Companies such as Whelen and Soundoff are making some excellent LED lighting products. Great companies for emergency lighting and now they are making great scene lights. Now for fog application I'm not really sure.

i'll echo that Rigid Industries or X-Vision are going to be your best bet for a long life product.

however - i have 2 of the "WL-CWHP15-S60 Work Light", but got them on Ebay for half the price of the superbrightleds store (search ebay "15w led work light"). they provide a relatively wide and diffused pattern and are working great so far as rock lights.

so the cheap chinese stuff may have a place on your rig, but probably not facing forward. and if you are going to get chinese stuff, get it direct on Ebay instead of paying someone to mark it up.
