Let there be light!

The mod bug struck again and I ordered some Hella tractor/utility lights off of Amazon.com to add some backup lights. No need to show that common mod, however I did do something that I thought some of of you might like to see. When camping or parking in dark locations, having light under the vehicle is a nice luxury when entering or exiting. A lot of the new trucks have little lights on the mirrors but they barely put out any light. So with this idea I mounted two of these utility lights in existing holes under the cab of the truck and then wired them into the factory harness to activate when the interior lights come on. I purchased two Cole Hersee single pole-dual throw switches along with the trim plate so that I could have automatic and manual control of the undercab and reverse lights. As you can see in the photo, I tapped into the harness at the A-pillar driver's side where on my truck there is a yellow/lightblue wire for the courtesy lights. Having access to the wiring diagrams from the factory upfitters guide from a previous thread was an enourmous help.

I chose to mount the switches where the factory adjustable pedal switch was located(optional). For power distribution I installed a 6 circuit marine fuseblock under the dash for clean and easy wiring.

The pictures don't do it justice. I love this mod!:Wow1:
