Welcome!

WTH was RAM thinking with that PRNDL indicator location?!

Thank you! Like you, I'm not a huge fan of its location and the fact that it is a rotary shifter. But, I'm used to it by now. The LR4 and my wife's 1500 had/have a rotary shifter as well.

If you're talking about just the indicator, it is duplicated on the speedo cluster

I agree, I owned a 19 power wagon for awhile and just couldn’t get used to that. I’ll be honest that, the lack of rear seat room and the MDS system caused me to trade it in.

MDS goes away with a push of the tow/haul button.
I agree that the rotary shifter sucks.

Yes it does, but that gets annoying pushing that button each time. Plus the fuel economy of the 6.4 was much worse than the 7.3.

I didn’t know Knapheide made those type of units…nice work! Is it steel or aluminum?

Ya, I haven’t seen many knapheides with windows in the horizontal doors, at least not around here. It is steel and it’s definitely a few hundred lbs. It makes me feel a little more safe being steel and not an aluminum or fiberglass top. I ended up putting 3” blocks on the rear with shock extenders to level it back out. (I also have a 2” level in the front)

thanks

tires are 285/75r18 Toyo AT2’s.
Stock 3.73 gearing.

While deeper gears would be nice, it does great as is.
You just dont use 6th gear as often ?

Good to hear! I have the same truck but 4.30s and stock tires for now and my truck likes to use 6th at 25mph . Planning on a camper and 35-37s so it's great to know the 6.2L doesn't struggle too much with your setup.

The off throttle upshift is a common complaint. I typically just lock it out of upper gears to avoid it.

It never does struggle, but you certainly have to wring its neck on large grades. 2nd gear at 5000rpm+ doing 60mph+ up a grade is a new thing for us, coming from an old 7.3 Powerstroke. The 6.2 needs revs for hard pulls, but its designed that way.

It’s been about 2.5 years since I have been on the forums/social media (long story), but I have been missing the ExPo community.

Here’s my new project: 2012 Race Red Ford SVT Raptor SuperCab. I’ve been working through some much needed maintenance, so I can get a good baseline before making any changes. It appears to have had a rough last 1.5 years.

It came with Icon 3.0 coilovers, Icon RXT 3.0 rear bypass shocks and leaf springs. Front and rear frame cut bumpers are from SVC, and the wheels/tires are Method 702’s and BFG 35x12.50/17 KO2’s. There is a dual tire chase rack by SDHQ in the bed with 2 spares.

I have a lifted Denali, but all of tracked progress is in a blog (not for monetization) strictly to see over the years what I've done to improve my rig. I can provide my URL, but don't want Admin to misconstrue what my blog represents.

2006 Denali, 3" body Iift with 4" BDS suspension. Blue Top steering box, QA1 front coilovers and 1K lb rear springs with piggyback Bilsteins, gives me 14" of travel all riding on Mamba 18s on BFG MT 37s. Extensive LED replacements on anything electrical. Custom roof rack, tire carrier with dbl hitch. Been to Death Valley from Vegas and back.
