Let's talk about adding windows to a van!

I've got a Sprinter I'd like to add some windows to. I think I've explored most of the options but would like to see if there is something I've missed.

First off, they make windows for the Sprinter for exactly this purpose. Problem is that each one will run you about $500 before shipping. That could upwards of $3,000 just to buy opening windows for my Sprinter. Since I have two non opening ones already in place, it would still be over $2,000 for the other 4 locations!:Wow1:

Which is why many people have resorted to using other styles of aftermarket windows. Including some of the professional RV builders.

I'm open to ideas. Let's see what you guys have?

If the Sprinter walls are not contoured. Then I would run rv windows. They are on eBay really cheap. Just make sure you get one with all the parts you need or ability to make the missing ones. I wanted to run them on my Econoline but couldn't because our walks have a contour.

I'd be open to other suggestions. Like cool 60-70s van windows:coffeedrink:

Maybe VW 23 window style portal sunroofs in the hightop. :victory:

Unfortunately its not flat.

Sprinter. (middle window FWIW)

Eurovan windows.

I put a flat 14" tall flat window in my Ford and let's just say it's not the best.

However, it's better than the fiber optic door it replaced and it opens and has screen.

Some conversion van windows are contoured. Most have way too small openings though.

Those insulated plastic opening double layer euro windows are the answer! Maybe just two?

One what? A picture of the window angle?

Just the wife's car....nothing to see here. :coffeedrink:

S6 Avant? That is very nice! Knew a guy in the early 200's with an a4 and always thought they would be nice, but reliability/repairs always scared me off.

Too bad on the contour of your sides. Keep an eye out on eBay and/or salvage yards for Sprinter windows. Might be tougher than looking for Econolines. My issue is wanting something that doesn't come on a standard conversion van.

Yep! One of only two hundred 2003s imported. We have 206k miles on it. Reliability has been just fine. Our third high mileage Audi (S4 and A6 Avant)
