Let's talk about step vans...

Old thread, I know, but here is the last step van build I did (had a couple). So much room everywhere. Had house batteries and Honda genset under the hood, fresh and waste tanks under the skirts. I sure miss it a lot !

Looks like the Grumliner? I recall seeing it many years ago & probably messaged you about it at some point as well! I've always liked the Grumliner name for mine as well - a Freightliner MT45 & Grumman body, 4x4 conversion. It's still for sale in the classifieds as noted above if you're looking for another box-van / heavier duty platform.

Oh ya....... that is a sweet rig. That would make one helluva truck for anyone who does the real math. I really, really liked the grey photoshop rendition you did. THAT is a real rig. People probably do not realize all the space that rascal has for the equipment necessary. One day, your gonna wish you just stuck with it ! Is that thing 12' from the seat back ? And, it looks like it might be a 7' interior height ?

For those with 4x4 Sprinter dreams, this truck will be around long, long after those little soy boy vans will be.... This truck could be purchased and built out for far less $$ than any of these thin spindly current vans people are using, AND they will outlast them easily. You can not beat an Aluminum body like you got there. Keep the frame sprayed with Fluid Film and that truck has at least 50 years left in it.

I can't no more... Retired now and just took on that one last build (truck camper out of two fiberglass high top caps) and it almost killed my desire to do any more. I've got the interior built but will need to be upholstered in spring. Going to be buried in snow in the next two days.

Somebody should really consider your rig.... love it !
