Leveling elevator bed?

All,

In my camper design, I have planned an elevator bed over the dinette. It would be awesome if that bed could be leveled when the vehicle is not on level ground.

Has anyone seen one COTS available or DIY that can be leveled?

Thanks

I clicked thinking this would be a design challenge for a 3 point mounted camper body to have independent levelling when parked, which would be pretty cool. I really like my morning eggs to sit in a nice circle in the fry pan when I crack them in

But this should be much easier - how about hang it from the ceiling with 4 easily adjustable straps?

Kind of like a hammock? or this?

eh, I never figured out how to sleep with my honey in a hammock

was thinking a mattress platform adjusted by 4 straps, the adjustment points could all be moved to easy access spots

(edit) yes, kind of like that, just thinking nylon straps so I don't rip off a toenail kicking a chain in the middle of the nite

Right now I am thinking of putting three tracks in the walls. Then either cross drilling them or putting some sort of clamp or stop on the tracks. Lowering the bed by ropes so that when all ropes are slack, I am solidly resting on the stops.

The attachments to the track sliders will need some flexibility so they do not bind when not level.

I could carry a cheap Chinese laser level to set my stop locations.

Thoughts?

What would the tracks do that the straps wouldn't on their own? Stop any horizontal movement?

The tracks would keep the bed from swinging around.

A friend of mine once told me that they rented a house with a large covered patio. On that patio, there were a bunch of beds suspended by four chains.

He said that unlike a hammock that is soothing to nap in, a bed that swings only in one plane is nauseating to sleep on. Plus, I want the bed to feel stable at all times.... even at an angle.

If you are willing to install tracks, maybe a toothed set and a geared wheel could let you tune your bed to level. Hand crank or individual motors move it.
If you don't want to use spirit levels, here is an app-based device that will help you get it right--including letting you know how far off your parking spot is when you are choosing one.
I haven't tried it, but it looks like it might be helpful--
