You can 100% run 35s with a 2.5" lift it just depends on which brand of 35s you run. 35x12.15/17 BFG KM2s will work fine as will almost all other 35s as long as you are running wheels with proper back spacing.
How much weight will you be adding for these trips?
if any amount of weight and you dont like eventual sagging go with Old Man Emu I have OME 4" HD springs and 35's
another option is that mopar now has fender flares that allow 35's with no lift.
