Lightforce or IPF?

I am going to get a piar of good off road driving lights. I have narrowed it down to the IPF 968csg and the Lightforce 170 stryker. The IPF's are 55/100 watt and cost about $140. The Lightforce 170's cost about $230 and are 100w/350,000 candle power. What is your opinion and why? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Lightforce, well... because, I have them. lol :)

Honestly, I like the versatility of them. The different covers really come in handy. I'm a big fan of the combo covers and I have a set of clear and yellow combos.

I'm sure the PIAA's are great too, but I have no experience with them.

I'm a big fan of Lightforce (again because I own them).

I have both the 240s and some 180 Roolites (which are the lightforce knock off but as far as I can tell every bit as good).

There plastic, don't vibrate loose, have an awesome amount of light output, are pretty much unbreakable, and come with lotsa cover/focus options.

I see it like comparing a 7-11 candy bar to a good german chocolate. They are both sweet and do the job, but in the end they aren't the same.

If your budget can afford Lightforce, it is a better overall light then the IPF. Light, strong and well proven. However, the IPF is bright, reliable and priced very well.

Purchase according to your budget and how often you will actually use the lights.

Slight highjack here, my apologies.

For my own personal curiosity, what is the reason behind the different color covers for the Lightforce lights? How are these beneficial?

Road conditions, different weather, and increased sales. :)
Some are wide angle dispersion filters, too, which I'll admit do remarkably widen the beam.

EDIT: I also put a show-n-tell photo comparison between the spot filters and combo-wide filters here:

We're doing a light comparison for our January issue, we just put 4 LF 170's on our FJ. So far I haven't found anyone in CO with IPF, so they may not make it into the actual comparison. I can say that the LF are CRAZY bright.

The different colors for the filters are for different environments. The yellow are great for fog, and the amber performs similarly (I haven't compared the two yet). The combo filter does a good job of maintaining some 'spot' characteristics & still providing flood coverage.

Lightforce. You can change the bulbs in the field, they are light, durable and very well made. I've got the 240's, 170's and my father is on his second set of 240's (Due to a collision).

I'll be stepping up to some 240 HID's in the future.

Well.......Lightforce it is! I just saw a video online of a guy shooting a Lightforce light with a 12 ga., beat them with a hammer, and bounce them on the ground like a basketball and they still worked. Very impressive.

Articulate......on your edit post (light demo) you have a Yakima roof rack on your truck. Where did you get that? Something like that would be perfect on my Titan.
