Awesome approach and departure angles! :)
Interesting choice to make it 8.5' wide. That's in the same ballpark as a ginormous 5th wheel. They are fitting a lot of solar on it, but it looks like they're using flat, flexible solar panels? I'm not a fan of the long term performance of those. It has that look like an Airstream. You either love it or you hate it.

Starts at $125k for the base model. Long range model starts at $151.5k. Those $$$ are before any tax credits.

I bet the price goes way above that when it gets to production. No way they put all that tech and lithium in that trailer for that price. I bet it tops $200K out the door if it ever sees production.

Seems like overall a cool concept... I like the idea of an adjustable height suspension on a trailer, and the interior looks well thought out. However, I am cringing at the low profile tires on a trailer, it seems like a terrible idea.

Interesting; I'm not at all clear on why they would want it to have propulsion to start with. I mean, that might be cool for lower traction situations but wouldn't it be much simpler to just have a lot of solar and battery storage and then be able to function as a charging station for the EV tow vehicle? Probably legally/liability a lot simpler too, then it's just another trailer

Also always thought the idea of an RV with big solar capability being able to plug into the home when you're not camping and reduce home electric bills would be neat

That would only really help with range if you can charge while driving, which would basically require designing the tow vehicle and trailer together as an integrated system. I don't think there is much market for a trailer that only works with one tow vehicle, that you have to buy from them... at that point people would just buy a standalone RV.

I think we can all agree that this isn't an off-road rig...yet. I feel like it's just gonna need a 12" lift kit and A/T 37s and it'll be good to go!

With that out of the way, I love this concept. I'm with TreeFarmer, you either love it or hate it. (I also love the look of Airstreams.) I would hope that there are a couple of floorplan options; I would want something with a dedicated bed and seating for two instead of trying to sleep 6 (who wants 6 people in their trailer?!?), but that's me. Little stuff like the tires is likely an easy fix and maybe just cosmetics for the pics they've drawn up so far, so I'm not gonna go too far down that rabbit hole, but as for the real concerns/questions to speculate on:
  • Is there any way for those windows to have decent insulation? They are gorgeous, but I'm thinking that's necessarily gonna be a nightmare to heat and cool. Maybe someone knows of a way they could put something high-quality in there that would do a decent job? In fair weather, that would be awesome, though.
  • This thing would tow like a dream! But after a day of driving, are you on drained batteries when you get to camp or is there a dedicated "camp mode" battery? Would suck to pull into a campsite one evening and not be able to get more power until the next morning.
  • 3kW of solar is awesome, and to @workerdrone's point, that would make a nice little generator addition to a house when it's parked. It could save you a few bucks every month on electricity; even better if you have an EV to soak up the overage.
$500 to reserve one, and it's refundable. The pricepoint is barely above the cost of a couple cybertrucks. What's not to like?

I would like to see one. There are some ideas that could probably be incorporated into the off road trailer we ususally see around these parts. I don't know, it just looks fragile to me for some reason. I think it would take more than upgraded tires to give it more clearance. With all the electronics down low, you would definitely want to be careful about crossing water!

+1 - I've often thought about what a part-time electric assist could look like in a simple offroad trailer, with a tiny amount of short duration high torque propulsion just so the trailer could get unstuck or keep from bogging the tow vehicle to a stop on obstacles. Some kind of solid axle with integrated motors that could freewheel or disengage to avoid drag, like this:
