Just got a quote for $975 to do the rocker panels on my truck......has anyone out there purchased line-x lately? Last time I did a long bed back in '04 and it was 450......is someone trying to take me?
Ok yeah I think the guy was trying to take me. He wanted 975 for black, and another 400 on top of that for any color.....Think I need to find some one else
Wow..... The vendor we use at work to spray our trucks, over rail incluing tailgate, charges $295.00. Though they will charge that price as well to spray the rockers but damn thats really high,
Do it yourself for $120! After getting a $1000 quote from a LineX shop I did some searching to find a cheaper solution. Raptor Liner is a bed liner that SMB uses for their fiberglass tops. It doesn't fade, is thick, waterproof, tint-able, and easy to apply yourself. I did my front bumper and fiberglass top on my van. Easy prep and application. The kit comes with everything you need, including the spray gun.
I wonder if that price is because it is outside the box. Meaning that it is not the norm and requires extra masking, etc. They might not want to do unique jobs, so price it high to discourage them.
In the past South County in Gilroy has been the most reasonable in the area. About a year and half ago I got a quote for a long bed Xcab Dodge to do rockers in white and the bed in black and it was right about $1100. So unless you went somewhere else and/or the prices have gone way up I'd say they're HIGH.
I have been finding the same problem in the bay area...its been expensive. I have been putting off doing my bed because the line x guy in pittsburg wanted sooo frickin much. And he is the only guy around.
I just had my 2011 dodge with 6 1/2 foot bed done at Line-X, cost was as follows:
Bed sprayed up to rails in black with UV inhibitor $449.00 + $200.00 for color match
Power Wagon fender flares $160.00 + $40.00 for color match
Total bill was $ 850.00
Line-x is expensive in my area as well. Since I'm just doing the inside of my bed, and that deosn't need to be real pretty, I'm going to get Rhino liner instead.
It's cheaper and things don't slide around as much because it's rubbery.
Magnet Paints Monstaliner is what I am using (sitting in the garage waiting to be applied). Almost any colour you like, roll or spray, dries like iron.
He is a vendor over on Jeep Forum, and MANY people are using this with great success. Check it out, rockers and a roller with a quart will cost you probably $30.00 and last for years.
