This is a late post because I missed the question about where my track failed. For starters, the Macs Tiedown track included stainless steel bolts and locknuts. The Chinese track had cheap plated bolts and nuts which started to rust within 30 days of installation. I replaced the hardware with stainless just like the Macs stuff and this not only cost me labour (I feel my spare time is worth something and I hate wasting it to redo something when I could be fishing or drinking beer on my deck) to say nothing of the expense to purchase the stainless hardware. The fit of the swivel loops is poor in the Chinese track (inconsistent) and the rings and tension springs started to rust, causing staining of the paint in the truck bed. After about 4 years, the quality of the Macs track and swivel rings shows. The Chinese track and loops is available from TSC, Princess Auto and Canadian Tire. The savings are a waste of money.
