I build 500KV powerlines, one day when I got to the site where my crew was working for the day I seen them all looking down a 30 foot hole in the ground.. I said what you looking at, they said a skunk fell in the hole last night after we drilled it, looks like it was after some trash somebody threw in the hole. They said do you want us to just dump concrete on it and continue on? I said hells no I don't want you to do that, how about I throw you down the hole and dump concrete on you. They said well how exactly do you plan to get him out of there then. I then took a grade rod (an extendable hard plastic rod used for surveying) and extended it all the way, tied a slip knot in a rope and tied it to the end of the grade rod, then stuck it down the hole, got the skunk to step through it by moving it around him (I waited until one leg was through so it wouldnt choke him) and then jerked it up out of the hole with the skunk on the end, I took the grade rod and held the skunk down on his back and he was fighting the whole time and I untied him and he ran away.. from then on my crew has called me the skunk rangler.. ha ha..

Ahhh! Those are precious. My favorites of the animal kingdom are the weasel family (Mustelidae) and birds of prey. Two thumbs up for your MIL's good heart with animal rescue.

And one for the road.

Daddy, look at these cute kittens!
