the boat loader i used was a handraulic RHINO brand boat loader moded to slide forward out of the way
now they do the same sort of thing using a 12 volt motor to haul and lower the boat
beats winding :)

think of the worst corrugated dirt road youve ever driven on then multiply it by 5
thats the Gibb River Road and surrounds
the strap holding the rear tyre broke and the bike bounced
bike bounced off (2).jpg
left hand handle bar went through the rear window (lucky its plastic)
so almost secure :)

Nother vote for the truck style bed hoist. Folks out here use them to life their decked out sled into the back of their truck all the time. Seen some really solid home made ones using a come a long and decent welding.
It simple, stout and it works. No wiring reauired
