Im currently talking with a local fabricator about making extended control arms for the IFS and triangulated 4 links on the rear with an axle truss. Possibly with a coilover setup front and rear. My prelim measurements tell me that a 2 inch body lift will allow enough space in the rear for a 4 link setup with some modifications to the exhaust system. Rear coilovers might be tricky, doable but it may take up some cabin space. We are looking into a possible cantilever setup, but it might be $$$$. Probably we would be able to keep the stock coils, use coil keepers and extend the shock tower for a longer shock. Front shock tower and be lengthened and reinforced for coil over use, might need modified upper control arms, either extended or not, for coil clearence.
Now what he's asking me todo, is ask for pictures and measurements of lower and upper control arms from Monteros from the 1st gen, 2nd gen, 2.5 gen and similar vehicles, including Dodge counterparts. He was to know if the time needed for the research needed for a extended ifs jigs are marketable, if they are, he is interested in a group buy.
If anyone can provide pictures of control arms either on or off the truck, or mesurements of the control arm dimension, reply here.
