More trouble than it's worth, IMHO. The only part you could use is the frame. After looking at the pics I remembered that those mosters usually had 8 lug hubs, hyd surge brakes and buck board springs.

Dumping the box, axle, brakes and springs leaves you with just a frame. Huck sounds like a handy kinda guy. I'd bet he could build a better frame in his garage......

Huck: I would pass on this one!

Huck, I would pass on this trailer and either find a small 416, 101 or build a trailer.
Weight is a big factor. I have a M101A2 that I rebuilt to a matching camping trailer.
It now weighs 1080 pounds. It pulls great follows every move that my 2002 GMC 2500HD crew cab takes and has a 6' x 8' bed to haul. Plans are for cover and RTT on a rack above. I hope to be camping in the fall. Good Luck with your search!

Yo Huck. Youre in good company when you say the budget wont swing one of the off-the-shelf Cadillacs. But there's no shortage of amazing DIY trailers roaming about this portal. Not many can sustain a roadside IED hit as this looks it could (or maybe did). There's a few clever dual-use trailers on here as well. I'm currently building mine from an old utility truck bed. Nothing fancy. She wont stop incoming artillery or haul coal, but the family loves it. Try AllOfCraigsList and search for "camping trailer" Its humorous to see who would camp or go exploring in what kind of trailer. G'uck with whatever suits you.
