Most of the Montero guys like "overland" style stuff, that's the kind of thing Montero is best at. Long moderately difficult trails, the Montero just loves going on Expeditions. Carry's heavy loads and it's comfortable on ANY terrain. Montero guys in the Southwest on the other hand tend to do the whole "overlanding" thing but sprinkled with rockcrawling.

J-N-M, You're going to like wheeling with us. I'm sure we'll get together in the not so distant future. :chowtime:

We just spent 9 days in Moab, 4 of which were on the trail with the Jeep, so it may be a bit before I get down there again. Right now I'm deciding on whether to sell the Jeep or not, starting to gather parts for the Montero to make it more worthy.

Looking for that thing i just had in my hand...
Do it! The one thing the Montero definitely has over the Jeep in the rockcrawling category is service life. A Jeep can't take the beating that a Montero can, build your Montero up and do the Sierra Nevada Challenge with us in September 2015. We'll be doing the Rubicon and Fordyce Creek for the two main event trails, the rest of the trails are TBD at this point but they'll be more relaxing shorter trails in that area. The Sierra Challenge is 8-10 days of wheeling and it's a blast, I can't wait to go back.
