Great info folks, thanks for the links. This thread will help out others I'm sure.
I uploaded four files to give everyone an idea of my vision. I'm not sure which way to go yet; build my own box or buy premade alum boxes.
I have a local place that charges $15/bend so they're an option and I was leaning toward 0.90" thick alum plates if I went that route. But, I can simply weld up a complete skeleton structure made out of either 1/2" x 1/2" or 1/2" x 1.0" Alum tubing then skin the whole thing with Alum sheet on the inside and outside. I have large rolls of 3M VHB double sided tape for sticking the sheet to the structure or there is always the TIG option at a friend's place. I guess pop rivets is another option too. This would be a cost effective but extremely time consuming option vs just buying some Alum boxes and work with them. If I were to go this route, I'd do this project over the winter.
This seller has few Alum boxes made out of Five bar diamond plate, which I favor over the American diamond plating. Their prices are pretty good but I'm not sure the thickness of the material.
Rect box 49x15x15 I was thinking of building a pull out kitchen drawer inside this box.

Triangle tongue box. If I were to purchase this unit, I'd slope the lid down a little bit buy trimming down the sides. At 21" height, it's rather tall!

This is another option, a tad pricey but much larger
