Looking for a Handy Blog Map

Hi there,
I've done some looking and can't quite find what I'm looking for. I'd like to include a mostly updated map on a blog. It can be on another page (meaning not the active blog page) but I'd also like to have a simple sidebar 125px wide image that can link to it from my main page.

I'd like something that allows for simple updates as I'll be on the road most of the time and not a lot of time to update. I'd like to just drop a pin on a map and be able to attach a few photos or have those photos grabbed from a Gallery album.

I don't plan on geotagging all my photos as I won't always be able to (and will have better things to do at the time, I assume). So I'm not looking for the greatest thing in the world. I'm looking for something simple to update that gives an idea of where I've been and what there is to see there.

any suggestions?

Its thinking outside the box a little, and not the bloggiest of presentations, but... Google Maps: My Maps does something like what you want. You can easily modify your maps, embed images, movies, make available for public consumption or group collaboration.

Here is a sample map that I slapped together for a fellow ExPo'er. No embedded images or anything, but you can see how powerful a tool it is. Hopefully it'll give you some ideas.

If you use WordPress as your blog platform there is a google maps plugin developed for it:

Thank you both for the replies. I've downloaded the link for the Wordpress plugin as that's what I'm using, but that's not quite what I'm looking for (while still being perfectly usable for some other things).

I'm looking more for something of a "where in the world have we been" logging. I have seen a couple of blogs hosted by the likes of bootsnall.com but you have to use their service.

A sidebar widget would be cool. Just something that helps track. Mostly for my own fading memory.
