Looking for a roof top tent that will fit my vehicle...

Hi!

I'm trying to turn my 2008 F-250 Flatbed into an over landing vehicle, and the biggest problem I'm running into right now is finding a rooftop tent that will fit my truck.

I seriously dig the hard shell tents, like the ones James Baroud and AutoHome make but apparently, they won't fit on my truck because I have an extended cab. Do you guys have any recommendations for easy to set up roof top tents that will fit on my truck?

i don't see what having an extended cab has to do with anything? that sounds like a pretty big truck. can you post pics of it? seems like with the proper mounting rack, you could mount just about anything to it.

They said that the roof isn't long enough to mount a hard shell tent to. Is this untrue? Can't post pictures because my account is so new, but the truck in question is an 08 F250 SuperCab (the one with the two regular front doors and then the 2 suicide doors in the back.)

Depending on the length of the roof on your truck you may be able to use a RhinoRack system on the cab and mount a James Baroud rtt. Here is an example of a truck we just fit at OK4WD with a similar setup.

I just looked it up and with the rhino rack aero bars, the crossbar spread is 31.5" wide and the bars themselves are 59" long.

Rhino Rack also has a new system that gets riveted to the pinch weld on the roof. http://www.rhinorack.com/en-us/prod...t600-ditch-mount-black-2-bar-roof-rack_ja8416 I'm not sure what your roof will allow length wise with this setup, but I would check with Rhino Rack.

I've seen Autohome RTTs mounted to mini coopers and Toyota Tacomas so I dont see how mounting it on a huge F250 is a problem.

I am building my 93 f-350 currently, I am making a utility rack that attaches to the flatbed and I will mount the tent over the flatbed. I'm flushing the top of the tent (packed) with the roof line of my truck for aerodynamics (not that the truck is very aerodynamic but it will look cool).
