Congrats on the r50

I think you will be pretty happy with your choice as I was when I first got mine 10+ years ago. They are a solid truck and will usually get you out of anything with some decent tires (even Florida mud). Parts are relatively cheap yet not many are offered.

Well I ended up going with a r50 pathfinder. i test drove a couple 2nd gen montero and 1st gen xterras and the pathfinder had lowest miles drove best and just seemed right. I know it's not gonna ever be a hard core off roader but it fits my needs well. I actually took it out on a trail with my buddy and his fx4 f150 and it handled it amazingly (and it's probably one of the rougher trails, if not roughest I will be taking it on.) all in all I'm happy with it so far. It was well under budget so it leves me room to do some modifications sooner than planned. Looking at roof baskets and awnings now.

Cool. Congrats. Your statement about that trail being the roughest you'll be on had me giggling. Everyone sets a limit in their own mind about where they will and won't go. Yet, there are hundreds of accounts that contain with "I didn't expect ..." You should be prepared for the worst and hope you don't encounter it. Enjoy.

I have had my mombasa awning for years and like it

I'll have to check them out. So far I've been looking at the arb and rhino rack.

Oh and I see your from Alabama. Know any good trail up in north Alabama. I live in huntsville.
