Los Angeles to Alaska and back-8408 miles 24 days. Alaska hwy, Cassier, McCarthy

Pretty good roads all in all. hit quite a few construction zones on the way, blew a tire at one of them. Canada is misleading. It took a lot longer then expected to get through B.C. and the Yukon. Bad *** though. No one around, prime sleeping spots everywhere. From Vancouver we went:
99 Sea the the Sky
97 to the Alaska Hwy
up to Fairbanks
Denali
Anchorage
Kenai Peninsula
McCarthy/Wrangell
Then Returned on the 37 Cassier Hwy- Bad ***. Check out stewart

Getting the tire out from under the van looks like fun (ok, I lied). What's the story behind the military-looking vehicles? and on OD green teardrop?

The old military vehicles are part of a convoy by the military vehicle preservation society or something like that. They do it every few years. This one was the 70th anniversary of the Alaska highway.everyone of the vehicles was representing a different state. Met quite a few old timers from the east coast. Now that's a long drive. Anyway we were on their tails on the way up and finally crossed paths around Denali. It was really cool. Google it for more info. Tons of much better photos ect.

Man, we packed so much in i don't even know where to start telling you folks about it. Every day was pretty spectacular. Lots of glaciers in Alaska. Tons of wildlife. And open road for days. If anyone has some questions about specific area I'd be glad to help. Best parts would have to be the Yukon, McCarthy, Denali, and the cassier highway. All of Alaska was amazing, but seems to be overly populated with dicks. Im a pretty nice guy, but we got ****ty attitude from at least 50% of the people we were in contact with.even just trying to get a cup of coffee or something. Canada was all good. Can't think of one ******** in the bunch
