LR3 Coil Conversion Upper Strut Mount Busted

Mine are the AB OME HDs, truck sits at or above off-road height (& with no hardwire of the flash module it will occasionally pop 'extended mode' warnings though your proud rhino rods have reduced the frequency a lot). I gotta say I wonder if the shocks the customer got were the standard height bc the HD def gives 2" and putting spacers on would be a real absurd height. I can easily fit 32-32.5" tires now with the OMEs

Mine sits higher than with the rods also. Normally when I head out its just me and maybe my wife, so gear weight really has never been an issue.

This came in today. The center rubber section is what seperated. I won't get to replacing things until Friday after work. I'll post more picks then.

So I finally got to this today. You can see in both pics how the center of the mount separated. This allowed the top of the strut move around in pretty much every direction depending on where the suspension was in it's travel.

It's interesting (probably not) that those are made from rubber? I would expect some type of bearing there for durability? Or is that not the best way based on the intended use of that kit?

Given that it is part of the suspension the fact that it is rubber there isn't all that surprising; noise attenuation and vibration dampening would both be good reasons to use that there. I'm a bit surprised it failed that soon. Do you think there was something loose/out of tolerance that allowed it to move enough to degrade it?
