LR3 emergency "fixes"

Here is what I did for the Transmission not shifting out of park.
First I saw the drivers side brake light was out and I replaced it. I was skeptical this would fix it and of course it did not.
I then moved on to the brake switch (plunger switch at the brake pedal). I got one from the dealer and put it in. I was confident this would fix it. It did not!
I then moved onto the center console. I pulled it up and there were about 5 wire harness plugs in there. Not knowing which one specifically controlled the park lock I unplugged them all one at a time and replugged them in. Put it all back together and all was well. It's been shifting out of park fine for 2 days now. Fingers crossed :) I did not see any visible corrosion in any of those plugs so I can not say for sure what was going on. Just reseated the plug I guess?

I am a big fan of dielectric cleaner and grease for all of my connectors. Especially for our overland vehicles. Anytime I disconnect a connector, I blow it out with air, then spray it with the cleaner, hit the contacts with a pencil eraser (cleans connectors like no other if you can reach them) then air dry the connector, install a light coat of dielectric grease and reconnect. LR Connectors are great as is, but this is added protection for water repellant and corrosion prevention.

Available at any local car parts store.

Good advice, it's also my go to when finding a corroded connector in the A pillars from sunroof drain damage.

A few people get their sunroofs stuck or inop every once in a while. Sometimes all it needs a reset.

hold the 'close sunroof' button down for 30 seconds, the motor will run through the entire open/close sequence and then function as normal.
