LR3 factory air tank for aux air.

Mounted a factory air tank on the passenger side for aux air storage. Mounted in the same area in between the rocker and frame as the driver's side suspension air tank. Modified and fabricated brackets for mounting. Removed and rethreaded factory air fittings to common 1/4 npt. This tank and air system is completely separate from from the factory air ride system.

Awesome idea! I suggested this to folks that are converting to coils to keep the factory tank for onboard air demand! What a great plan, thanks for posting your project and we are all excited to hear your experience with it.

Can you post your location for all of the air system components? Where is the pump, valve, line adapter/coil, etc.??????

yep, it's a nice addition. Have had mine working since 2007. Only leak was in a swivel fitting near the compressor under the hood so it was easy to fix. I've been trying to figure out how to stuff my ARB twin compressor into the spot where the single barely fits though

Having the tank is also great for seating new tubeless mountain bike tires as the floor pumps are very annoying for that process.

Compressor, solenoids, and fittings are mounted under the truck in spare tire location with a custom bracket with air intakes plumbed inside the truck. The hose reel is integrated into the trim panel of my custom drawer system.

Tapped out the odd ball factory fitting on the tank to 3/8npt and used a 3/8npt to jic4 adapter fitting and used all braided stainless jic4 hoses for everything.

2 plus gallon capacity don't really know. Using air for tires, air tools, and a blow gun to clean up the interior on trips.

2gal is plenty if you ask me, especially if its refilling on demand! ARB dual portable was rated as the best portable compressor and its a much smaller volume tank. You have the same pump so I say its surely a win for on-board air solutions.

I brought half of the Imperial Sand Dunes (Glamis) and Chocolate Mtn Range back with me a few weeks ago. I blew it out in the driveway but that would have been super nice to have more air in my pot pottle to clean the interior after I air up for the drive home.
