LR3 Key Replacement

A while back i purchased a Genuine LR key for my LR3 and programmed it with my GAP Tool; I have both originals but want to replace them both as the rubber is worn out. I know peeps were buying Amazon shells and cutting them and then installing the factory guts from the OE keys but I would prefer to buy a new key with board, get it cut at ACE (they say they can do it).

Anyone have an EBAY or Amazon recommendation and KNOWN SOURCE for a new key ready to be cut and programmed? I can't seem to justify a new cut key from LR for $200 a piece that is going to last another 2 years or less before needing replacement.

Thanks in advance!

My replacement FOB shell (can't remember where I bought it) for my LR3 just cracked around the top of the lock button after about 3 years of use. I ordered two shells at the time, one for me and one for my wife's RR but I never renewed her FOB, so I still have a spare shell I can use. But, I am debating the same thing, do the shell thing again or get a new key altogether. I'd be curious to know what legit new ones can be purchased for these days.

This one worked for my LR3. Cut by local locksmith, programmed with GAP tool. The batteries will eventually fail to lock and unlock the doors, but will still start the car. The keys are easy to open with a screwdriver and replace the battery.

FWIW I bought a key on eBay that claimed to work for my wife’s RR, but could not be programmed. Looking inside the boards were extensively different, so the RR seems to have a more complex anti theft system.
